President Kenyatta Congratulates 2020 KCSE candidates




President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday, May 10 congratulated the 2020 KCSE candidates for an excellent performance despite the challenges posed by COVID-19.

Speaking at State House, Nairobi, when he received the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations results ahead of their release to the public, Uhuru also praised the education sector stakeholders for the smooth administration of the examinations.




The results were presented to the president by Education CS Prof George Magoha at a briefing attended by Head of Public Service Dr. Joseph Kinyua, Early Learning and Basic Education PS Dr. Julius Jwan, and TSC CEO Nancy Macharia and her KNEC counterpart Mercy Karogo.




The announcement of the results on Monday will pave way for the candidates for admission to universities, colleges, and technical learning institutions.

President Kenyatta also witnessed the swearing-in of Prof Fatuma Chege as the Principal Secretary of the new State Department for Implementation of Curriculum Reforms within the Ministry of Education, in the same event, expressing confidence in her ability to perform.




President Uhuru tasked Prof Fatuma Chege telling her that she has been at the forefront in the development of the curriculum and that she knows what needs to be done.
