South American football powerhouse Palmeiras has reportedly made an initial offer to Fulham for midfielder Andreas Pereira. The 28-year-old Brazilian, who joined Fulham from Manchester United in the summer of 2022, has quickly become an integral part of the squad.
Since his arrival, Pereira has featured in 97 competitive matches for the West London club, scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists. This season, he has played 15 times in the Premier League, contributing significantly to the team’s attack, including scoring a goal in the recent 2-2 draw against Liverpool.
Palmeiras Shows Interest in Pereira
Pereira’s performance has not gone unnoticed, and now Palmeiras sees him as a key target in their bid to strengthen the squad for the 2025 season. According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian club has submitted an initial proposal to Fulham regarding a potential transfer for the midfielder.
Palmeiras is reportedly keen on Pereira, describing him as a “dream target” for their team. The Brazilian international has prior experience in his home country, having made 53 competitive appearances during a loan spell with Flamengo. Pereira’s time in Brazil also includes a memorable moment when he made a costly mistake in the 2021 Copa Libertadores final against Palmeiras, before eventually securing the prestigious title in 2022, along with a Copa do Brasil winner’s medal.
Fulham’s Reluctance to Sell Pereira
Despite Palmeiras’ interest, Fulham remains unwilling to part with Pereira. Romano’s update on the situation reveals that the club has yet to respond to Palmeiras’ proposal. However, Fulham views Pereira as an untouchable player, making a January departure unlikely.
The midfielder is under contract with Fulham until the summer of 2026, and the club holds the option to extend his deal for an additional year.
Fulham Faces Challenge Without Pereira
On the pitch, Fulham will need to manage without Pereira in their upcoming home match against relegation-threatened Southampton. The player is serving a one-match suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season during the 2-2 draw at Anfield last Sunday.
