P1 Teachers With Mean Grade of C (Plain) Have a Reason to Smile
To solve the teacher shortage, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has disclosed intentions to transfer more primary school instructors to junior secondary schools.
Despite the commission receiving a new funding allocation, the second groups of PTE teachers in practise have not yet been assigned to junior high.
Those teachers whose applications were received before March 22, 2023, will be given first preference for the second deployment.
Following the budget reading on Thursday of last week, TSC was given a budgetary allotment that would be utilised to advance these teachers as well as the around 14,000 tutors who have been in the same job group for years.

Before approving the deployment of a teacher to a school, TSC mandates that the Sub County Directors verify all paperwork.
The committee insisted that there be a category of elementary school instructors who can work at junior secondary schools.
