Orengo to Expose Wajackoyah Assassination Plot
Siaya governor James Orengo has revealed his intention to publish an expose’ on an alleged assassination plot against Roots Party Leader George Wajackoyah.
Orengo declared on Tuesday, January 3, during the funeral service for Wajackoyah’s late father, Mzee Tito Jakoya, in Indangalasia, Kakamega, that the names of the murderers will be revealed in a book he was writing.
“I am writing my book, and I will disclose to Kenyans the people who wanted to kill Wajackoyah,” he alleged.
“It is good that most of them are dead. Others who worked with the government were mercilessly killed but we thank God that we are alive,” he noted.
Orengo assisted Wajackoyah, then a police detective, in his pursuit of the late Robert Ouko in the 1990s.
As a lawyer who was involved in the murder case, the governor used information received from the Roots Party leader to reveal the truth about the murder.
“I have known Wajackoyah for a long time. He shared with me a lot of information from his previous workplace.
“I am not scared of saying it. When late Ouko was killed, I was part of the case, and Wajackoyah was, at that time, my great friend,” Orengo uttered.
Wajackoyah had to flee to another country to save his life. Orengo was enraged to find that former Nakuru District Commissioner Jonah Anguka had been wrongfully accused of murdering Ouko.
“I thank God that Wajackoyah is alive today. It is a shame to those who wanted to eliminate him to see him alive and even vying for the presidential seat,” he announced.
Wajackoyah, according to Orengo, was also a close friend of Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga, a closeness that was obvious even during the 2022 campaign season.
During the 2022 General Election, he was never seen or heard supporting Raila.
“It is because of that, man. The man whose tears come out every day because of what happened to him in jail, including me. I am here to join the liberators.
“And the person I look at, the person who makes me stand here is none other than Raila Odinga,” Wajackoyah announced during his presidential campaigns.
