Nyamunda Primary School Suspend Learning after 5 pupils were possessed by evil spirits. Sigalame, Ofafa Jericho Closed Over Fire Incidences
Learning activities have been suspended at Nyamunda Primary in Migori County after 5 pupils were allegedly possessed by evil spirits.
Mr Fredrick Taabu Kiboko, the school's headteacher, and Mr Timon Ogolla, the Board of Management (BOM) chair, announced on Monday that five girls in class six collapsed after being possessed by evil spirits.

The school's principal has requested that the Ministry of Education and Education Cabinet Secretary, Professor George Magoha, visit the school and investigate the situation. Suna West Sub County is home to Nyamunda Primary School.
The primary school is registered and qualified to teach students from Grade 1 through Standard 8 using the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
Elsewhere, Nairobi Deputy Governor Anne Kananu paid a visit to Ofafa Jericho High School on Tuesday, following a fire that destroyed a dormitory on Monday night.
Kananu, who was accompanied by other County Government of Nairobi officials, praised the team that coordinated the containment efforts. The DG stated that 25 students remain in stable condition in various hospitals and are expected to be discharged soon.
No injuries were reported after the students were admitted due to smoke inhalation. Kananu stated that the county government will provide blankets, mattresses, and food to the school.
The fire, which started around 7 p.m., destroyed students' beddings and other personal effects. The affected dormitory housed approximately 15 students, according to school Principal Mathew Linge.
The school was closed on Tuesday and students were sent home to allow for an investigation into the cause of the fire. The principal also stated that four students have been identified as the primary suspects, and that appropriate action will be taken against them.
"Form fours will come back on Friday and the other classes on Monday. We wanted the tension to go down first, some of them were traumatised and we felt the need to give them some break," Linge said.
And in Busia County, Sigalame High School in Funyula has been closed indefinitely after a fire on Monday night destroyed one of the dormitories. This is the fourth fire in the school since it reopened this year.
Dominic Opee, Director of Education for the Samia sub-county, stated that the students will remain at home until the cause of the fire is determined.
The students caused a scuffle early Tuesday morning when they chased away the school guards, injuring one of them in the process. However, police officers have since restored order to the institution.
