New TSC Salary Structure of Teachers at Grade C2
In recent news, the Kenyan government has announced alterations to the salary structure for Secondary Teacher II, Lecturer II, and Special Needs Teacher (Primary/Senior Teacher II).
As per the signed Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), teachers at the entry level of Teacher Grade C2, primarily graduate teachers, will see an increase in their basic pay by up to Sh4,164.
Those at Grade C3 will experience a rise of Sh5,141, and DS-grade teachers will receive an increase of Sh4,883.
These adjustments will have a nationwide impact on educators, offering them some relief and improved financial prospects in their careers.

– For Grade C2, at Salary Point 1, the new basic salary will be 36,621 KES, and it increases with each point.

Grade C2: T Scale 7 New Basic Salary
In addition to the adjusted basic salaries, educators will also benefit from various allowances tailored to address their specific needs and challenges:
– Hardship Allowance: Grade C2 and T Scale 7 educators will receive a Hardship Allowance of 10,900 KES.
– Commuter Allowance: Teachers will be entitled to a Commuter Allowance of 5,000 KES to assist with daily commuting expenses.
– Annual Leave Allowance: Recognizing the importance of teachers taking breaks, an Annual Leave Allowance of 6,000 KES will be provided.
– Disability Guide Allowance: A significant addition is the Disability Guide Allowance, amounting to 20,000 KES. This allowance aims to offer extra support to educators working with students with disabilities, acknowledging the unique challenges they encounter in their roles.
