Public primary and secondary schools in Kisumu, Busia and Kakamega have recorded nearly 98 per cent learner resumption according to PS University Education and Research Amb. Simon Nabukwesi. He said this while touring schools in the region including Kotetni primary school, Butere Boys, St Elizabeth Lureko, Butula boys, Bumula primary and Busiada girls high school in Western Kenya.
School Heads in the examined institutions said the main challenges they are facing is the lack of adequate space to achieve social distancing as well as desks.
This week saw a staggered resumption of classes to avoid overcrowding. The PS was optimistic that 100 per cent resumption will be achieved once all learners report to their respective schools.
