Mudavadi Betrays His Own! ANC Members Threaten to Ditch Him Over Shocking Merger With Ruto’s UDA

A group of members from Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC) has threatened to leave the party, accusing their leader of betrayal.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, January 21, the members criticized Mudavadi for reportedly allowing ANC to merge with President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) without proper consultation.

Expressing their displeasure with the controversial move, the members stated they would stop supporting Mudavadi unless he reversed his decision.

“We believe the party’s leadership has allowed itself to be overtaken by our rivals. We initially thought we were united for a shared cause, but this wasn’t the case,” said the members.

“Our leaders have let the party be taken over without even consulting us. While we don’t know their reasons, we wish them well,” they added.

The members also questioned Mudavadi’s motives, accusing him of focusing on personal gain instead of improving prospects for the Luhya community.

They stated that Mudavadi was no longer capable of representing Luhyas, and that his presidential aspirations had been ruined by this move.

“Musalia, you’ve betrayed us. You were one of the leaders we hoped would become president. All you’ve done is switch parties and use us for your own advantage,” one member said.

This comes just days after Mudavadi’s ANC merged with Ruto’s UDA. On January 17, UDA Chairperson Cecily Mbarire announced that the merger would bring changes to the party’s internal structure.

Mbarire stated the merger aimed to create a more inclusive and democratic party with shared political values.

During the announcement, the UDA National Executive Committee appointed Issa Timamy, former ANC leader, as Deputy Party Leader, and Omboko Milemba as Deputy Secretary-General.

Mbarire also mentioned that UDA had integrated ANC’s symbols into the new logo, imagery, typography, and overall branding.
