MP Peter Salasya Urges President Ruto to Appoint Him as Personal Advisor- “Your People are Lying to You”
Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has urged President William Ruto to appoint him as a personal advisor so he can provide honest guidance about the country’s situation.
Speaking in Mumias, Kakamega County, on Monday, January 20, Salasya criticized the president’s current advisors, accusing them of withholding the truth. He pointed out that Kenyans are struggling under heavy financial burdens due to excessive payroll deductions and challenged the government to address these issues. Salasya pledged his support for President Ruto’s re-election if these concerns are resolved.
“Mr. President, please hire me as your advisor and compensate me because your team isn’t telling you the truth. They say the Social Health Authority (SHA) is working, but it’s not. They claim the new university model is successful, but it’s not. I want to tell you that you have the heart to help Kenyans, but some people in your government don’t want you to see the real picture,” Salasya said.
The MP also expressed his belief that President Ruto is a leader sent by God but warned that certain individuals within the government might be exploiting him. He urged the president to review the financial situation of ordinary Kenyans, particularly their pay slips, as a way to win public favor and secure another term in office.
“I know you’re a God-sent leader, and I want you to be re-elected, but please address the financial challenges Kenyans face. If you do that, I’ll fully support you,” Salasya added.
Salasya made these remarks during an event where President Ruto launched the first-ever bonus payments for sugarcane farmers in Mumias. He further advised the president to include stakeholders in all major government decisions, arguing that this approach would enhance leadership success and improve the implementation of initiatives like the SHA.
“If you want to lead successfully, involve stakeholders in every decision. When stakeholders are part of the process, even the SHA will function effectively,” Salasya concluded.
