Learning was disrupted at Moi Girls’ in Eldoret on Wednesday Morning as students went on strike over what they termed as harassment by the school’s principal, Christine Chumba.
They also accused the principal of mismanagement of school funds and high-handedness against the support staff. The enraged students demanded the removal of the principal, over the alleged harassment.
Riot police and senior education officials are currently monitoring the situation at the school. The students had camped at the school gate but were restricted from demonstrating outside the school.
They also accused the principal of ignoring their important concerns. They termed the principal as very corrupt when it comes to the handling of school properties.
The principal is currently locked up in a meeting with education and security officials.
