Missing lawyer Hassan Nandwa found dumped

Professor Hassan Nandwa, who had gone missing, was discovered dumped in Mwingi, Kitui county.

His family reports that he was discovered alive but shaken.

This comes four days after the high court ordered police to locate Nandwa, despite the fact that the National Police Service (NPS) denied knowledge of his whereabouts.

Instead, the NPS stated that it had launched an investigation in order to bring his kidnappers to justice.

Prof. Nandwa was kidnapped after leaving Jamia mosque after evening prayers more than a week ago.

According to the family, police raided his Nairobi home that night in search of his client Elgiva Bwire.

However, Bwire, a self-confessed member of the al-Shabaab terror group linked to the October 24, 2011 terror attack at the Kaka bus stage along Race Course Road, remains unaccounted for.

His life sentence was reduced to ten years in prison after he filed an appeal.
