Mikel Arteta classifies the Chelsea raid following the confirmation of the Folarin Balogun theory.

After acquiring Jorginho on the final day of the transfer window, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could make another raid on Chelsea in the summer, as the Blues want to cut their bloated roster.

The aftermath of the January transfer window is still being felt throughout the Premier League as Arsenal prepares to face Everton this weekend.

Mikel Arteta returns to his former stomping grounds with the knowledge that the Gunners are still in first place in the league with a five-point cushion over Manchester City, whom they will face the following week.

Thomas Partey’s fitness is still up in the air, therefore Arsenal fans could see their first look of Jorginho at Goodison Park while Thomas Partey’s status remains uncertain.

Arsenal considers a new Chelsea attack

Arsenal intends to capitalize on Chelsea’s excessive spending spree by negotiating a summer bargain for Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Hudson-Odoi, who is presently on a season-long loan with Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, is one of a number of Blues players who might be sold in the summer. The Londoners must cut their huge roster to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations after spending over £320 million in January alone.

Arsenal have completed one raid on Stamford Bridge after purchasing Jorginho for £12 million on transfer deadline day. The Gunners are now interested in Hudson-Odoi, who has made 17 Bundesliga appearances this season.

Arteta’s Balogun idea proved accurate.

Folarin Balogun has attracted the attention of Arsenal supporters this season after thriving in France with Reims, and following a sensational hat-trick on Wednesday night, he surpassed the likes of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe at the top of the Ligue 1 scoring charts.

Balogun, 21, scored three goals in Reims’ thrilling 4-2 victory over Lorient, bringing his season total to 14 goals.

Arteta predicted that Balogun was capable of contributing to Arsenal’s success despite a disappointing loan spell in the Championship with Middlesbrough during the second half of last season, where he scored just three league goals. Balogun’s impressive performance in France has partially vindicated Arteta’s prediction.

Liverpool is urged to run for Rice.

Danny Murphy, a former Liverpool midfielder, has pushed his former team to compete with Arsenal for West Ham captain Declan Rice.

The Gunners are the front-runners to recruit Rice, who is poised to depart his boyhood club next summer. However, other powerhouses, including as Liverpool and Chelsea, are set to make their own bids for the England star.

Liverpool have major midfield issues and have been linked with a transfer for Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund. Murphy, though, believes that his former club should also pursue Rice, even if Arsenal has the upper hand in the pursuit.
