Masinde Muliro University Bans Skin tights Trousers , Rugged Jeans And Tshirts From Dress Code List
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) located in Kakamega County has recently implemented a dress code policy for its students, which includes a list of prohibited items. An internal memo, dated Wednesday, October 11, and obtained by Ghetto Radio, highlights concerns raised by the institution’s Dean of Students, Bernardatte Abwao, regarding what is described as ‘indecent dressing’ among some of the students.
The memo expressed appreciation for those students who already adhere to the policy of dressing decently while on campus. However, it also addressed the issue of indecent attire, emphasizing the importance of modest and appropriate dressing for all students.

The prohibited items in MMUST’s dress code policy are as follows:
1. Micro/mini skirts.
2. Skin-tight trousers.
3. Ragged/torn/ripped jeans.
4. Tumbo-cut blouses/T-shirts.
5. Low-cut blouses/dresses.
6. Micro shorts.
7. Transparent dresses.
8. Attires that expose bra straps or sleeveless T-shirts.
Additionally, the dress code policy at MMUST forbids T-shirts with offensive writings, sagging trousers, clothing that reveals the chest, ragged/torn/ripped jeans, and “crocs” footwear.
The memo also specifies that slippers, crocs, and all plastic shoes are considered unofficial attire and are not permitted within the university premises.
