Manchester United seals deal for Watford’s highly regarded teenage defender Harry Amass…

Manchester United sign highly regarded teen defender Harry Amass from Watford, with the 16-year-old entering the club’s academy.

Manchester United concludes an agreement to acquire Watford teen sensation Harry Amass.

This season, the 16-year-old defender will join United's academy squad.

Amass was an unused substitute for last year's FA Cup match between Watford and Reading.

Manchester United have signed highly-rated Watford adolescent Harry Amass, who will join the club’s youth program.

The 16-year-old defender has reportedly signed a four-year contract with the club after being linked with a move to Old Trafford since the end of the season.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Hornets were desperate to retain their teenage prodigy and had offered him a professional contract in addition to his scholarship agreement, but he has decided to leave the team.

Amass has been at Vicarage Road since he was nine years old and was an unused substitute in the first team’s 2-0 FA Cup Third Round loss to Reading last season.

Amass has already played for Watford’s U18 and U21 teams, including impressive performances against Everton and Arsenal in the FA Youth Cup last season.

Amass will join United’s academy system following the completion of his transfer from Watford.

The talented teenager will now join United’s youth academy, with the expectation that he will eventually be promoted to the club’s first team.

Amass has played for England’s U15 team, making his debut in December 2021 at the age of 14, and is presently a member of England’s U16 squad.

Additionally, he is anticipated to be a member of the England U17 squad that will compete in the FIFA U17 World Cup later this year.

Amass joins new first-team additions Mason Mount and Andre Onana at Old Trafford this summer, with the club on the verge of signing Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund.

United is also interested in signing Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina.
