Manchester City’s Shocking Bid to Snatch Long-Term Manchester United Target

The latest report claims that Manchester City is contemplating a move for Barcelona’s Frenkie De Jong, which would be a major coup against their fierce rivals Manchester United.

The interest of Manchester United in the midfielder is well-documented. They attempted to acquire him last summer, with Barcelona’s president confirming they received an £86 million bid. Barcelona was willing to sell him at the time due to their financial difficulties, but an agreement could not be reached.

Unexpectedly, however, United’s city rivals have reportedly joined the race to acquire him.

The Sun reports that Pep Guardiola is interested in signing the Barcelona ace. However, according to the report, Barcelona will demand at least £90 million more than they were willing to offer West Ham for Declan Rice.

What about Frenkie De Jong to Manchester City?

Despite the fact that Barcelona president Joan Laporta has stated that De Jong is not for sale, the club’s ongoing financial difficulties could potentially influence their decision if Manchester City, the treble winners, make an attractive offer.
