Man Utd’s Initial Offer for Rasmus Hojlund Rejected by Atalanta as Serie A Club Prepares to Sell for £39m
One of the striker options under consideration at Old Trafford is Hojlund.
Atalanta have denied Manchester United’s €35 million (£31 million) offer for Rasmus Hojlund, but are willing to accept a bid of approximately £39 million.
United is in negotiations with Inter Milan to sign goalkeeper Andre Onana and hopes to complete the acquisition of Mason Mount from Chelsea next week.
The Premier League club has been priced out of moves for Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen this summer, with both Tottenham and Napoli valuing the strikers at in excess of £100 million.
The 20-year-old Hojlund is also being seriously considered, with the Denmark international reportedly eager to join Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
The most recent reports from Corriere dello Sport indicate that Atlanta rejected United’s opening bid of £31 million for Hojlund, who they acquired from Sturm Graz for just $15 million last summer.
However, the report indicates that Atalanta will cash in if they receive an offer between £34 million and £39 million.
Juventus is also monitoring the situation of the Dane.
In his first season in Serie A, Hojlund scored nine goals in 32 appearances and recently welcomed rumors of a summer transfer to Old Trafford.
“It is a huge club, so I must have done something right if it’s rumoured they want me. We have to see what happens,” he said.
“As you see and hear, I imagine a lot could happen to quite a few strikers this summer, as many clubs are looking for a no9.
“Something will definitely happen there, and then we’ll have to wait and see if I am included in it.
“I am very happy to be with Atalanta and we have qualified for Europe. I have found myself in a really good place here, so now we have to wait and see.”
United is also rumored to be interested in Mehdi Taremi of Porto as a potential low-cost option.
