Makueni Boys High School has issued a two weeks suspension to 258 students following a night of rioting at the institution.
The school has a population of more than 1,000 students.
Reports indicate that on Friday night, the form 4 candidates went on the rampage protesting the mandatory, monthly haircuts by the school.
According to the school principal Mr Raphael Katana, the students-some who were keeping a full beard and head full of hair- declined to get their haircuts as ordered.
When the school emphasised the haircuts, the students became unruly, prompting their suspension to pave way for investigations.
“We shave our students every month, all the students in other classes got their haircuts, but the Form Fours refused, as per the Ministry of Education guidelines, we sent all of them home because they became rowdy, “Mr Katana
