No Money for Lunch During KNEC Exams
Teachers in Ruiru, Kiambu County have been warned not to request payment from candidates for lunch during the national examinations. The Member of Parliament for the area, Simon King’ara, emphasized that a feeding program sponsored by the Ng’ang’a King’ara Foundation has already covered the cost of lunch for the three exam days.
Mr. King’ara presented a check worth Sh2.5 million to support 8,154 candidates in the constituency’s 19 public primary schools. He revealed that there had been reports of some teachers demanding parents to pay for the meals, which is in violation of the sponsored feeding program.
