The secondary schools in Kakamega County have the greatest teacher shortage in the nation.

There are 421 secondary schools and 4,283 open teaching posts in the county. In the county, there ought to be 9,999 teachers, yet there are only 5,716.

On the other hand, there are 4,317 fewer primary school teachers needed in Kisumu County, which has 608 schools.

The county need 10,547 teachers for its fundamental schools, but only 6,230 of them are on hand.

Kitui County has the most secondary schools without a principal, accounting for 68 of the county’s 452 total establishments.

Bomet (55), Kakamega (53), West Pokot (53), Meru (50), and Migori (50) are among the counties with the highest proportion of secondary schools without principals.

Now there are 103,077 fewer primary and secondary school teachers working in the public sector as a whole.

This information is less than what TSC provided last week when it unveiled its strategic strategy.

TSC figures show that there are 111,870 fewer tutors among teachers.

In order to hire more instructors over the ensuing five years, the teacher’s employer requested an additional Sh78 billion as part of its five-year strategic plan.
