List Of Allowances To Be Affected In August Salary Increment

A wage increase of between 7 and 10 percent will be given to teachers and public officials and will be retroactively implemented starting July 1, 2023. The increase will be given in two installments.

Additional information regarding the amount of allowances that will be impacted by the pay increment plan was made public yesterday by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, also known as the SRC.

The SRC provided a list of the allowances, including house and commuter, that will be affected by the new policies. The new House and Commuter allowances that will be paid were also displayed in a table by the SRC.

In the first phase, which begins on the first of July 2023 and continues until the 30th of June 2024, pay raises of 5% will be given to teachers and civil servants. In the second phase, which begins on the first of July 2024 and continues until the 30th of June 2025, pay raises of 5% will be given.

On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, the head of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), Lyn Mengich, gave the official announcement that the payment that will be made in August salaries with July arrears will be made.

According to the available information, the wage increase has had an impact on the allowances that are paid to a wide variety of government employees. These employees include teachers, civil servants, county government employees, and members of the disciplined forces.

TSC has not yet published the new wage structure that will display the new salary points for teachers ranging from the lowest paid to the most compensated.

In spite of this, the Ministry of Public Service, Gender Affirmative Action, and Affirmative Action has made public the salary and perks that would be provided to national government employees during the first phase.

According to the available information, there will be adjustments made to the house allowance for a number of different work groups, including those in lower cadre.

“The new Basic Salaries and House Allowance will apply to Civil Servants in the National Government in CSG17 to CSG4, who will be in the Service on or after 1st July, 2023,” said Ministry in the document detailing the adjustments. “The new Basic Salaries and House Allowance will apply to Civil Servants in CSG17 to CSG4, who will be in the Service on or after 1st July, 2023.”
