WhatsApp Groups TSC has Banned teachers From Joining
The government has taken action against multiple social media groups and channels believed to have been used by scammers and teachers to share fake examination materials. The Teacher’s Service Commission Chair, Nancy Macharia, has issued a warning that any teacher found participating in these groups will face consequences.
These groups, totaling 33 in number, have reportedly emerged this year with the aim of spreading false information about the upcoming national examinations, set to commence shortly.
According to a report in Sunday’s Standard publication, unscrupulous individuals have been circulating fake documents claiming to be examination materials through these social media platforms.

As the country prepares to administer various examinations, including the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and the Kenyan Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), teachers are advised to stay away from these groups on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, and others.

In a related development, President William Ruto is considering the introduction of a new fee structure for schools across the country, following recommendations from an ad-hoc committee on education reforms.
