KUCCPS releases KMTC second placement results

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced the release of the results for the second round of Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) course applications. In a public notice issued on a Tuesday, KUCCPS stated that applicants had already received notification of their results through SMS. They also provided instructions on how applicants could check their results.

“The results of the second KMTC application are now available. Please log in to your portal via http://students.kuccps.net to check the status of your application. Applicants have been notified by SMS,” the notice stated.

KUCCPS had opened its portal on September 12 for students who missed the initial KMTC placement. They mentioned that they would conduct a revision of choices for students who applied for KMTC courses through KUCCPS. This revision period was set from September 12 to 16.

Notably, the original application deadline was August 4. KUCCPS encouraged those who missed out to log in to http://students.kuccps.net and choose another KMTC course without any additional charges.

Eligible students were urged to visit the KUCCPS portal at http://kuccps.ac.ke for further details. The portal had initially opened on July 22 for applications. According to KUCCPS CEO Mercy Wahome, the service received a total of 42,000 applications during the application period, with each applicant paying a fee of Sh2,000. However, due to KMTC’s student capacity of 11,000, approximately 32,000 students were expected to miss out on placement.

Wahome mentioned that the KUCCPS portal offered 30 different Kenya Medical Training programs for application. With KMTC’s inclusion in the KUCCPS system, the placement service was responsible for placing students in degree, diploma, certificate, and artisan courses across 289 public training institutions and 30 private universities in Kenya.

The application process was primarily aimed at individuals who had completed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination from the years 2013 to 2022. Wahome highlighted that the programs available at diploma and certificate levels covered various fields, including community health nursing, mental health and psychiatry, midwifery, radiography and imaging, medical laboratory sciences, occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and public health, among others.
