KUCCPS Announces New KMTC Application Deadline
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced a new application deadline for students who missed the initial placement opportunity at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).
In a statement released on Tuesday, KUCCPS explained that the new deadline for placement applications will be Saturday, September 16, 2023, due to many students failing to secure slots. The original deadline for KMTC placement was set for Sunday, September 10.
The extension aims to provide another chance for KMTC applicants who didn’t secure a place initially to reapply, free of charge. It also offers students additional time to consider their future studies and choose related courses.
KMTC, a state corporation under the Ministry of Health, is responsible for training health professionals to serve local, regional, and international markets. It’s the largest health training institution in Kenya with over 40,000 students enrolled in various programs, including Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Environmental Health, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Laboratory Technology, among others.
KMTC has more than 70 campuses across the country. To be eligible for admission, applicants must have a minimum of C (plain) in KCSE or its equivalent. Tuition fees at KMTC vary depending on the course and campus.
The KUCCPS placement process considers a student’s KCSE grade, course preferences, and the availability of spaces in universities and colleges. Interested students can apply for placement through the KUCCPS website, which provides a step-by-step guide on the application process.
