KNEC announces final registration date for grade six exam, sends chilling message to parents and school

KPSEA 2023 Registration Deadline. The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has released the registration deadline for the grade six examination dubbed KPSEA.

The exam is slated to begin later this year.

The examination body has mentioned that the grade six exam registration kicked of on March 3rd and is expected to close in April 3rd 2023.

The KNEC CEO, David Njengere told schools that there will be no deadline extension and therefore they should ensure that they have captured learner’s details within the stipulated time.

He emphasized that registration will be done exclusively on the KNEC online portal.

Requirements for registration

During registration, learners are required to produce their assessment numbers, their gender, year of birth, names as they appear in the birth certificate among other details.

However, centre managers have also been warned against registering ghost workers as the examination body has declared war on centre managers who will violate the law.

Similarly, the KNEC CEO maintained that only bonafide learners transitioning to grade six will be eligible for registration.

KNEC Sends Caution

Any school which will be found to have registered ghost learners will be deemed to be involved in assessment malpractice  which will attract sanctions like deregistration of the school as a examination centre.

Before submitting the registration details to KNEC on 5th April, school heads have been requested to submit the list to the Sub-County Directors of Education for verification.

The grade six learners will be assessed later this year alongside the class right learners and form four students.
