Knec Won’t Pay Deputy Heads Cp2 Exam Dues,Gives Reasons.
The latest updates reveal that Deputy Primary School Headteachers will not receive travel expenses stipends, a benefit typically provided by Knec to contracted professionals, including drivers, teachers, and security personnel. According to a Knec official, deputy primary school heads will not receive these dues because they did not incur travel expenses during the KCPE and KPSEA Examinations.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) will make payments to teachers who served as supervisors, invigilators, and center managers for the exams. Additionally, the council will compensate teachers contracted as examiners for marking these national exams.

In the 2023 Grade 6 KPSEA examinations, Deputy Headteachers were appointed as center managers, in line with newly established examination rules that require them to remain in school during the KCPE and KPSEA Examinations. In the past, the school deputy headteachers were not mandated by the Commission to be present on the school compound during these examination periods.
In these circumstances, many deputy heads applied for and were contracted as supervisors and invigilators for the national exams. Furthermore, it is worth noting that deputies were not required to register their details on Knec’s CP2 platform, indicating that they will not be eligible for payment.
