The Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) has issued guidelines on how unpaid invigilators and supervisors can get their dues.
The Examination council directed those unpaid contractors to click the link https://bit.ly/3ibv5AB and provide all the needed details.
Some of the details teachers are required to fill the provided Google form include;
1 Full names
2 Stationed institution & Position
3 Phone number
4 Amount not paid
5 Your current working station
6 Position you worked e.g. Center manager, Supervisor, invigilator
Knec contracted professionals include centre managers (principals and headteachers), invigilators supervisors, and security personnel.
There has been an outcry from teachers who have lamented over delayed payments. However, those contracted to manage the 2020 KCSE exams have already been paid.
Centre managers are paid shs.500 as subsistence allowance according to KNEC while high school Principals earned the same amount daily for 18 days.
The highest-paid Supervisor walked away with a total of Sh.12,510 while the highest-paid invigilator got Sh9860.
Deputy school heads even though they were present during the examination season as assistant Centre Managers. Teachers handling science subjects who prepared and those that administered practicals during the KCSE examinations also will not be paid a penny according to KNEC.
The government hired 180,000 teachers to manage the 2020 national examinations. About 286,000 professionals were engaged by the Council to administer the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
