KNEC Increases Payment Rates For Examiners And Invigilators
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has recently made a significant decision that has brought joy to teachers across Kenya. They have announced an increase in payment rates for examiners and invigilators. This move is eagerly awaited and promises a more lucrative opportunity for teachers who play a vital role in the examination process.
Online Registration for Examiners:
For the 2023 examination marking exercise, which covers both the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, examiners are required to submit their details online. This online registration process aims to ensure the accuracy of data capture. The online portal for KCPE examiners was opened on October 16, 2023, while KCSE examiners will have access to the KNEC portal starting from November 1, 2023.
KNEC Contracted Professionals Website:
Examiners can access the KNEC Contracted Professionals Website through the official link: https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke. To log in, they should use their designated username and password. If an examiner has forgotten their password, there is an option for password reset, which involves providing a mobile number to receive a new password for regaining access to the portal.
New Payment Rates:
The most significant aspect of this announcement is the new payment rates for different roles. Here’s a breakdown of the comprehensive payment rates:
– Centre Manager (KCPE): Centre Managers in all regions will receive Sh500 per day for 4 days, resulting in a total pay of Sh2,000.
– Centre Manager (KCSE): KCSE Centre Managers will also receive Sh500 per day, but for a longer duration of 18 days, accumulating to Sh9,000.
