KNEC 2023 KCSE Qualifying Test Examination Timetable
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released the official timetable and guidelines for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Qualifying Test Examination.
General Instructions
The examination is set to begin at 8:30 a.m., and candidates are urged to be punctual. Each paper has a specified duration, and no extra time will be allowed. In case of discrepancies, follow the time on the question paper. Reading time is included in the total examination duration, unless stated otherwise in the paper’s instructions.
Supervisors and invigilators play a crucial role in ensuring that candidates complete their answer scripts correctly, including their names and index numbers. Candidates should confirm they have received all required papers.
Examination Period and Date
The examination will occur on Monday, October 30, 2023, with the following schedule:
Morning Session (1st session):
– Paper: QT904 Mathematics & Science
– Duration: 2 hours (8:30 A.M.–10:30 A.M.)
– Break: Duration: 30 minutes (10:30 A.M.–11:00 A.M.)
Midday Session (2nd session):
– Paper: QT903/1 English
– Duration: 2 hours (11:00 A.M.–1:00 p.m.)
– Lunch Break: Duration: 1 hour (1:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m.)
Afternoon Session (3rd session):
– Paper 1: QT903/2, Kiswahili
– Paper 2: QT903/3: Kenyan Sign Language
– Duration: 2 hours each (2:00 P.m.–4:00 p.m.)
Instructions and Guidelines
Sub-County Examination Officers should ensure candidates read and follow instructions and guidelines. Candidates must understand the consequences of examination irregularities.
– Arrive 15 minutes early.
– Check the question paper matches their registration.
– Follow general instructions on the paper’s first page.
– Write name and index number on the answer booklet.
– Write on both sides, except in margins.
– Clearly indicate the question number in each answer.
– Use black or blue ink for writing, pencils only for diagrams.
– Read questions carefully to avoid wasting time.
– Submit the answer booklet promptly when instructed.
Caution to Candidates
Candidates must adhere to certain rules:
– Leave the examination room early only with supervisor permission.
– Do not take question papers out of the room.
– Avoid leaving written materials accessible to others.
– No communication during the exam.
– Possession of unauthorized materials or electronic devices is prohibited.
Penalty for Examination Irregularities
