KNEC 2023 KCSE Qualifying Test Examination Timetable
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has recently unveiled the official timetable and instructions for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Qualifying Test Examination.
The examination is set to commence promptly at 8:30 a.m., and it’s imperative for all candidates to ensure they arrive punctually. Each examination paper comes with a predetermined duration, and there is no provision for additional time. It’s crucial to adhere to the time indicated on the question paper, and this encompasses the designated reading time.
The supervisory staff will oversee candidates’ compliance in filling out their examination papers correctly, while candidates are expected to verify that they possess all the necessary materials.
The examination is scheduled for Monday, October 30, 2023, with the following timetable:
Morning Session:
– Paper: QT904 Mathematics & Science
– Duration: 2 hours (8:30 a.m.–10:30 a.m.)
Break:
– Duration: 30 minutes (10:30 a.m.–11:00 a.m.)
Midday Session:
– Paper: QT903/1 English
– Duration: 2 hours (11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.)
Lunch Break:
– Duration: 1 hour (1:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m)
Afternoon Session:
– Paper 1: QT903/2 Kiswahili
– Paper 2: QT903/3 Kenyan Sign Language
– Duration: 2 hours each (2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.)
In order to maintain the integrity of the examination process, Sub-County Examination Officers are responsible for ensuring that candidates strictly adhere to the provided instructions to prevent any irregularities or misconduct.

Instructions to Candidates:
– Arrive 15 minutes in advance.
– Confirm that the question paper corresponds to your registration.
– Pay careful attention to the general instructions.
– Clearly write your name and index number on the answer booklet.
– Utilize black or blue ink for writing (pencils are permissible for diagrams).
– Ensure that you indicate question numbers explicitly.
– Thoroughly read each question.
– Submit your answer booklet as instructed.
Candidates are cautioned against the following:
– Departing from the examination room prematurely necessitates supervisor permission.
– Concealing written materials from view of others is strictly prohibited.
– Communication between candidates or with individuals outside the examination room is not allowed.
– Possession of unauthorized materials or electronic devices, including cell phones, is strictly prohibited.
Candidates are reminded that there are penalties for examination irregularities as outlined in the KNEC Act No. 29 of 2012. These penalties may include result cancellations and legal consequences. Upholding integrity is essential to avoid any form of misconduct.
