KMTC Announces For Higher Diploma In Orthopaedic Technology

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has recently announced scholarships for deserving candidates who wish to enrol in the Higher Diploma in Orthopaedic Technology programme which starts in September.

With a vision to enhancing the standards of medical education and healthcare delivery in the country, this scholarship will provide eligible candidates with the opportunity to gain new skills and knowledge required to advance their careers and bring a positive change to healthcare in Kenya.

To qualify for this scholarship, candidates must hold an orthopaedic technologist certification obtained from a reputable training facility. Furthermore, they must possess a minimum of two years work experience as an orthopaedic technologist in County Health Facilities such as County and Sub-County Referral Hospitals.

Candidates must register with the National Association of Orthopaedic Technologists in Kenya and must currently be employed as an orthopaedic technologist by the Kenyan County Government. Prior approval and release by the County Government is mandatory.

The scholarship aims to cover tuition fees and provide a stipend for candidates. This initiative is aimed at supporting healthcare professionals to enhance their skills and knowledge base and directly contribute to the healthcare system in the country. Applications are currently being accepted through the official KMTC admissions portal, admissions.kmtc.ac.ke, until August 31, 2023.

This scholarship programme is in line with the larger development strategy of Kenya’s Vision 2030 which is focused on improving healthcare and skill development in the country.

Through this initiative, KMTC is working in collaboration with international partners, such as ATscale and the Clinton Health Access Initiative, to lay the foundation for a future where medical professionals in Kenya have access to cutting-edge training and knowledge, which will directly enhance the healthcare system in the country.
