A Kenyan undergraduate tragically lost his life while swimming in Stockton Lake, located in Newcastle. According to authorities, Orville Kimutai Tures, a 23-year-old student who had been studying in Perth since March, drowned around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Bystanders at the lakeshore were unable to assist him.

After receiving reports of Tures needing help in the water, the Western Australia Police Force initiated a search, which led to the discovery of his body by police divers on Monday.

In response to this heartbreaking situation, Tures’s family in Kenya has established a GoFundMe page to gather funds for repatriating his remains to Kapteren, Keiyo North, in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

They have made an appeal for support and prayers during this challenging time, mentioning that Orville’s body is currently in the custody of Bunbury police.
