KDF announces 1,600 names shortlisted for cadet, tradesmen jobs

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has unveiled the list of candidates who recently applied for their online recruitment drive. This announcement, made on a Friday, includes a total of 1,606 individuals who are in the running to become a part of the force, either as tradesmen and women or as specialist officers.

Among these candidates, 347 have been selected to serve as specialist officers, while a larger group of 1,259 individuals are in the pipeline for the tradesmen and women positions.

For those eager to check if they made the shortlist, the Ministry of Defence website at www.mod.go.ke is the place to go. On the website, candidates can navigate to the downloads section and easily access the comprehensive list by downloading it. Alternatively, KDF has provided links on their verified social media accounts, offering candidates another avenue to find the list of shortlisted individuals.

In addition to the candidate list, the KDF has also disclosed the interview dates and locations for those who successfully made the cut. For tradesmen and women, the directive is to report to Embakasi Garrison in Nairobi on September 25, 2023, with the proceedings beginning promptly at 8 am. Specialist officers, on the other hand, are slated to attend their interviews at the KMA in Lanet, Nakuru County, at the same scheduled time.

KDF has made it clear that all candidates must bring along their original National Identity (ID) Card, along with four copies of their academic and professional certificates, curriculum vitae, and any other relevant testimonials during the interview. Importantly, they have assured candidates that feeding and accommodation will be provided throughout the interview period.

Even for those candidates who do not secure a spot, KDF has a provision in place. According to their regulations, unsuccessful candidates will be reimbursed for their road traveling expenses. This thoughtful gesture underscores KDF’s commitment to fairness and transparency in their recruitment process.
