KCSE Rehearsal Set To Start As Primary Schools Ready With Exam Materials
The preparations for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) are well underway, with the final exams set to begin. According to the 2023 KCSE exam timetable, Thursday, 19th October 2023, has been designated as a rehearsal day for the 903,260 KCSE candidates.
The actual exams will commence the following week on Monday, starting with French, German, and Arabic oral questions, along with practicals for Kenya Sign Language and Music. The KCSE exams will conclude on Friday, 24th November, with Physics practicals.
In contrast, candidates for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) will have their rehearsals on Friday, 27th October 2023.
Most primary schools have already received examination materials in preparation for the three-day national exams. KCPE and KPSEA exams are scheduled to start on 31st October and conclude on 1st November 2023.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has confirmed that they have completed plans to administer national examinations to a total of 2.3 million learners, including both KCPE and KCSE candidates. Approximately 1,415,315 candidates will take the KCPE exam, while another 903,260 will participate in the KCSE test. Additionally, KNEC has made preparations for 1,282,574 Grade Six learners taking KPSEA.

Regarding the duties and responsibilities of invigilators and supervisors during the rehearsal day, their tasks include ensuring secure storage for examination materials, inspecting examination rooms for compliance with Council specifications, briefing candidates on proper conduct during the exams, and assigning duties to invigilators to ensure the smooth administration of the exams.
