KCSE Exams Will Continue Despite Monday’ s Public Holiday

Candidates sitting for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education will continue with their exams on Monday, November 13, even though it is a public holiday.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki, on Monday, officially declared November 13, 2023, a public holiday for the purpose of nationwide tree planting. This declaration was made under the powers granted by section 3 of the Public Holidays Act.

The tree planting initiative is part of Kenya’s Landscape and Ecosystem Restoration Program, aiming to grow fifteen billion trees.

Despite the public holiday, the Interior Ministry’s Head of Communications, Francis Gachuri, has clarified that the KCSE exams scheduled for Monday, November 13, will proceed as planned.

The KCSE exams began on October 23 with practical papers and will continue throughout the month, concluding at the end of November.

On Monday, November 6, Form Four candidates across the country completed their theory papers for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.

On Tuesday, candidates are scheduled to take Math Paper 1 and English Paper 2.

November 8 will see candidates sitting for Chemistry Paper 2 and English Paper 3.

On Thursday, November 9, learners will be tested on Kiswahili Lugha Paper 2 and Kiswahili Insha Paper 1.
