KCPE Candidate Chops off classmate’s Finger
In Rongo, Migori County, police initiated a manhunt on Thursday for a Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidate who assaulted a fellow pupil by cutting their hand during a dispute over a piece of biscuit. This unfortunate incident occurred at Kasodo Primary School, where a quarrel between the two students escalated, leading one of them to use a knife to harm their classmate before going into hiding. The dispute began over the ownership of a single piece of biscuit, which ultimately resulted in this tragic event.
Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the severity of the injury, with some claiming it was a finger that was severed, while others suggest that an entire hand was affected. The altercation unfolded shortly after the completion of their KCPE examinations, leaving teachers and fellow students shocked.
Incidents of violent crimes involving minors have been on the rise in the country, raising concerns about the need for intervention and guidance for young students. The injured pupil was promptly taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
