Jurgen Klopp expresses concern about a question regarding Liverpool that is being asked too often.
The Liverpool boss expressed concern following his team’s recent loss to Wolves.
Jurgen Klopp confesses he is quite concerned about Liverpool’s form, and he reaffirmed that last season’s 63-match schedule has affected the current campaign.
Saturday afternoon at Molineux, the Reds were defeated 3-0 by Wolves, losing their sixth game of the season.
Craig Dawson scored his first goal for Wolves after 12 minutes, following an own goal by Joel Matip, and Ruben Neves sealed the victory in the second half following an Adam Traore-led quick counterattack.
Klopp admits he is concerned about the team’s current form and suggests the first half of the season was negatively impacted by last season’s long run.
However, the German declined to use this as a justification for the current situation, stating: “Unfortunately, the issue has been posed too frequently. How could I not be worried?

“I cannot sit here and say it’s all OK and we did well. It’s not. I was asked outside if it’s because of last season, 63 games.
“Yes, of course, it’s clear that [last season] has influenced the first part of the season, but how long do we want to suffer from that? It’s February now. We had a full week to prepare, we have another eight or nine days to prepare the next one.
“We are fit, we are there now, injuries yes, but today, the first 12 minutes is not allowed, and we did it anyway. This is not a 3-0 how a 3-0 usually looks. Wolves were a clear better side for 12 minutes, and maybe the last 10 when they were 3-0 up and the ball was their friend again.
“But in between, we were really in the game and especially in the second half we put them under real pressure, against a team full of confidence with momentum. But we didn’t finish the situations off, which is not helpful.”
On February 13, Liverpool will play their Merseyside rivals Everton in a Merseyside derby.
