Jose Mourinho instructs the ‘next Didier Drogba’ on how to achieve a £45 million transfer to Chelsea.
Victor Osimhen continues to garner interest from Europe’s most prestigious teams as he guides Napoli to Serie A triumph.
Victor Osimhen has been instructed by Jose Mourinho on how to secure a transfer to the Premier League. As he continues to excel in Serie A, the 24-year-old forward has been strongly linked with a move away from Napoli for some time.
Osimhen, whose contract with the Italian giants expires in 2025, has appeared 20 times and directly contributed to 19 goals for Luciano Spalletti’s squad this season. His spectacular performances have propelled Napoli 13 points clear of second-placed Inter Milan and Roma in the Scudetto competition, attracting the curiosity of Chelsea.

The Mirror reports that in the summer, Todd Boehly will compete with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain for the talisman. According to the report, Spalletti’s club could demand up to £100 million for Osimhen.
Only Diego Costa and Olivier Giroud have come close to filling Didier Drogba’s role as an all-encompassing target man for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. In recent years, the Blues have experimented with Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, and, most recently, Pierre-Emerick Aubamyeang, but without much success.
So, Osimhen has been chosen to replace Drogba at Chelsea. Mourinho has given the Napoli star guidance in order for him to fulfill his dream transfer to the Premier League.
According to Goal, the former Blues manager stated: “Didier is on par with Drogba, but he did not dive. If Victor changes, then it is acceptable.
“I’d buy him if I was at a club with a lot of money. However, if he does go to England one day, he needs to change, because in Italy they put up with this sort of behaviour, whereas in the Premier League, they’d come down hard on him.”
Mourinho continued by telling what he said to Osimhen in Naples, when they crossed paths. He said: “I told him he scored a fantastic goal and must quit diving so frequently. His goal was great, and he scored a similar goal when we first met this season, so he is a fantastic player. However, he cannot dive.”
Paolo Bargiggia, an Italian journalist, disclosed that the Nigerian international came close to joining Arsenal before finalizing a transfer to Napoli. Osimhen has previously stated that the Gunners inquired about him when he was a youth.
In a 2020 interview with The Independent, Osimhen stated: “After the event (Under-17 World Cup), I spoke with Arsene Wenger, who wanted me to join Arsenal.
“I had a lot of options. Barcelona; Inter Milan; Atletico Madrid; Juventus and the rest. Arsenal was a good option but it wasn’t the best at the time. I wanted to start playing as soon as I turned 18.”
