How to change TSC Pay Point

The Teachers Service Commission TSC gives room for teachers to choose their preferred banks through which it will pay your Salary.

For one to be guaranteed of receiving a salary, he/she must provide a bank or Sacco account. These details are provided when filling the TSC bank form.

This bank form is filled by the teachers when they are first employed by the commission. The form is then sent together with other documents to the TSC head office. This is all done after the vetting exercise and interviews.

A teacher at one point, may wish to change his/her pay point due to various reasons. This is possible since the Teachers Service Commission TSC offers this provision.

Procedure For Changing TSC Salary Pay Point

Teachers are allowed to change their salary pay point more often as they deem it fit.

For your salary to reflect in your newly Updated bank/Sacco account, ypu must ensure that you follow the procedure below.

  • You first need to download the bank form and print it
  • Ensure that you fill the form correctly with correct details of your new pay point and ensure that the form is certified by the school head. If you are a principal/headteacher, your form should be signed by the TSC County or Sub-County Director.
  • You will be required to get a copy of your new bank/Sacco account plate or ATM on both sides. Remember this account you are providing is the new bank account where you your salary will be channeled to.
  • Once you have completed filling the bank form, attach your certified bank plate copy and a copy of your national ID to the form
  • The documents should now be sent as one package in an enclosed envelope to the TSC head office addressed to the secretary TSC, P.O Box, Private Bag, Nairobi.

Note that, you are not supposed to close your current account before the salary starts to flow to the other new account provided. This is because if TSC does not effect your changes in good time, your salary may bounce back if you had closed your current account.

There are cases of several teachers who have gone without pay due to the fact that they closed the account before the new account is updated.

How to change TSC Pay Point

If you find that your pay point change is past the payroll close date, the commission will send your salary to the old account but the account will return the money to TSC if you had earlier closed your current account.

Therefore, retain your first account until the new one is updated since the process requires a lot of bureaucracies.

Therefore, whenever you wish to change your pay point, ensure that you don’t close your current account until the other account is updates.

You are advised to keep checking and ensure that the salary is paid to the new account for up to four months before closing your other account.
