How to Apply For TSC Number. Before any qualified teacher commences teaching in any private or public institutions, the Teachers service commission Act 2012 article 237 demands that the commission should register this teacher.
A teacher who has merited and qualified will be registered by the Teachers Service Commission ( TSC) and will be issued with a registration certificate within a period of not more than 30 days.
The commission always published the names of all registered teachers every year.
Requirements
Applicants are advised to submit their applications online using the TSC users manual available on its website.
The following documents are necessary in applying for the TSC number online. You are required to scan and upload the following documents online;
- Certified copies of academic and professional certificates or original Documents
- Bank Slips (National Bank) or M-pesa Message printed.
- National Identity Card/Passport for Aliens
- KRA Pin
- Certificate Of Good Conduct
- GP69 Form, Duly Filled from a Health facility
- Entry and work Permits for aliens ( Non- Kenyans)
Before you commence the process of application, you are required to make a deposit of Sh. 1060 through direct Banking or simple Banking ( M-pesa).
Of the total amount, Sh. 1,000 is a non refundable fee for registration while Sh. 60 is for bank Commission Charge to the TSC.
How to Apply For TSC Number
For those who have lost their certificates, they are required to deposit a non refundable fee of Sh. 2060 where Sh. 2,000 is for registration and Sh. 60 is for the Bank Commission Charge to the TSC.

After completing the application process, you can now check the status of your application online.
How to check for registration Status
Visit the Teachers Service Commission website https://tsconline.tsc.go.ke/register/registration-status then enter your ID number and the click search.
If you have been registered, it will display your TSC number and your names. If your number has not been processed, then it will display in-progress.
TSC can also reject your application if you don’t meet the set criteria or your documents are not verified.
