How The Following Allowances Will Affect August Salary Increment For Teachers
Soon, teachers and government employees will benefit from a wage increase that ranges from 7 to 10 percent over the course of two years (two phases) and is retroactive to July 1, 2023.
The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) provided more details on the amount of allowances that would be impacted by the pay increment plan on August 13. The commission specified the homes, commuters, and compensation that would be impacted by the new regulations.
The SRC also provided a table with the new House and Commuter allowances that will be paid. Teachers and government employees will receive a 5 percent salary increase in the first phase, which goes from July 1 to June 30, 2023, and another 5 percent in the second phase, which runs from July 1 to June 30, 2024.
The payment that will be made in August salary with July arrears will be made, according to Lyn Mengich, head of the salary and Remuneration Commission (SRC), who made the official statement on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

Details reveal that the salary increase has had an impact on the allowances given to different government workers, including teachers, civil servants, county government employees, and members of the armed forces.
However, the pay and benefits for first-phase national government employees have been made public by the Ministry of Public Service, Gender, and Affirmative Action. The dwelling allowance will vary for a number of work groups, including those in the lower cadre, according to the specifics.
“The new Basic Salaries and House Allowance will apply to Civil Servants in the National Government in CSG17 to CSG4, who will be in the Service on or after 1st July 2023,” declared the Ministry in the paper outlining the changes.
The new wage structure, which will list the new salary points from lowest to highest paid teachers, has not yet been released by TSC.
