Hope for HELB Beneficiaries as Disbursement begin This Month
Helb Funds Disbursement begins this month through the Helb-Mpesa mini app will enable students access their upkeep money easily.
The Helb-mini App help students to apply their helb funding and
check their statements of disbursement whenever they feel like.
The two bodies, Safaricom and Helb, have launched helb mobile wallet and Helb-Pesa mini app, to enable students access their funds with ease.
The Helb app enables students to view their current status, and access their statements easily than visiting the offices for such services.
The CEO Helb Charles Ringera says, “The partnership will empower beneficiaries with even more convenient “.
Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa further added, “Through this partnership, we will build and deliver mobile and digital solutions,
That will further empower all beneficiaries more convenient by enabling them to easily access the services from mobile phones”.
The rollout of this service will commence with first-year students making their first loan application
Before gradually expanding to existing Helb beneficiaries in their second and later years of studies.

Helb funding is to help students from humble backgrounds for their upkeep in terms of pocket money and also fees and rent payment.
Helb disbursement this month will help many students from lower backgrounds to resume their learning process.
Confirmed dates of Helb release
However, the Helb body says that not all students will be funded this academic year.
Other continuing students will have to wait till the next disbursement.
Therefore, students who applied for the Helb funding should be, optimistic to receive their notifications on Helb in the month of September.
Students should use their funds on a right manner, to avoid misusing funds on unnecessary things like drug and substance abuse.
