Five of the youngest Premier League players and where they are now.

Last week, we profiled the top five Premier League goalkeepers with the most clean sheets. This week, we feature the youngest Premier League debutants.

Sometimes, promising young players are given their first taste of senior football at a relatively young age, although this does not necessarily result in a lengthy career at the highest level.

In this list, we will examine what happened to these players and their current status.

5) Aaron Lennon (16 Years And 129 Days)

In August of 2003, the winger made his debut for Leeds United against Tottenham.

Lennon is the player with the most success at the highest level among the top five, having made 416 Premier League matches in total.

The 35-year-old midfielder only retired last year after playing for four different premier league clubs.

4 Isaiah Brown (16 Years And 117 Days)

In May 2013, the midfielder made his debut for West Brom against Wigan Athletic. It was his sole outing for the Baggies before to his transfer to Chelsea.

Brown has spent time on loan with Vitesse Arnhem, Rotherham, Huddersfield Town, Brighton, Leeds, Luton, and Sheffield Wednesday, among others.

However, he only made 15 Premier League outings (13 for Brighton and just 1 for Chelsea). The 26-year-old departed Stamford Bridge for Preston on a free transfer in 2021, but was released last summer. No organization has signed him as a free agent.

3 Michael Briggs (16 Years And 68 Days)

In May 2007, the central defender made his debut for Fulham against Middlesbrough.

Briggs spent five seasons with the Cottagers, but made only 12 more Premier League appearances, spending the rest of his time on loan.

He ultimately departed the London club for Millwall in the summer of 2014, followed by stints with Colchester and other clubs. The defender is currently playing for Gosport Borough in the non-league.

2) Harvey Elliott (16 Years And 30 Days)

In May 2019, Fulham gave the winger his first official appearance against Wolves.

Elliott’s Craven Cottage contract was nearing expiration at the time, and he transferred to Liverpool just a few months after making his debut.

Under Jurgen Klopp, the teenager has made 51 appearances for the Reds on Merseyside and has become a regular starter.

1 The first Ethan Nwaneri (15 Years And 181 Days)

The midfielder has the distinction of becoming the only 15-year-old to appear in a Premier League match.

In September 2022, Mikel Arteta sent on Nwaneri as a second-half replacement in the 3-0 away victory over Brentford.

Since then, the adolescent has not been included in a matchday squad for the first team, and many believe that his debut was a ploy to convince him to sign a new deal.
