Ex-Man United star banned from driving after failing to give cops name
The England international received a letter from police requesting the identities of the drivers but neglected to comply.

Jesse Lingard exits the Manchester Magistrates’ Court.
Former Manchester United footballer Jesse Lingard has been disqualified from driving for six months and fined £900 for failing to identify the driver of his Range Rover that was captured speeding by police.
Lingard, 30, whose contract with Nottingham Forest expired in June, appeared before the Manchester Magistrates’ Court to plead guilty during a brief hearing. He only spoke to verify his identity and submit a guilty plea.
In August of 2017 in Stretford, Lingard’s vehicle was captured speeding. Greater Manchester Police sent him a letter requesting information about the drivers, but he did not respond.
Lingard’s attorney, Frank Rogers, stated that he was not the driver of the speeding vehicle, but he did not receive the letter requesting the driver’s information.
Mr. Rogers expressed as follows:
“He was at the time of the speeding offence living in rented accommodation in Nottingham, where he was then playing. The documents went out to his then permanent address, in Altrincham.
“Mr Lingard has accepted that the system in place at that time just was not good enough to protect him and deal with processing his mail. So when the speeding offence was committed in August last year in Stretford, Mr Lingard was in Nottingham. He was not the driver.”

Jesse Lingard was given a six-month driving ban and a £900 fine.
Mr. Rogers stated that Lingard had been with Manchester United since he was nine years old, until his transfer to Nottingham Forest in July of last year, and that he is currently “in discussion” with multiple organizations regarding his future playing career.
He stated that the football player is solitary and supports his extended family financially.
The court was informed that Lingard received two traffic convictions on June 5 and 6, 2020.
Due to his guilty plea, the six points associated with these violations are reactivated, and he faces imminent disqualification from driving under the “accumulation” of points process.
Jane Hamilton, a district judge, said to Lingard,
“Your licence will be endorsed with six penalty points. The six already recorded against you in 2022 count, so you are liable to be disqualified under the totting up process.
“So you are disqualified for six months. That begins immediately.”
Lingard was additionally assessed a £900 fine, £200 in court costs, and a £360 surcharge. As he exited the courtroom, he made no comment.
