DCI arrests 44 school children aged between 14-17 at a house, seize alcohol and bhang

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is investigating an online cartel that has been luring high school girls from their homes for partying orgies that go on for days. The DCI maintain that stern legal action will be taken against adults who abuse children.

“As the investigations go on, we wish to issue a stern warning to individuals taking advantage of the Covid-19 pandemic to prey on school girls who are at home, especially through the social media networks, that their days are numbered,” DCI warned through their official Twitter account.

On Saturday night, detectives arrested 44 school-going children and their host and seized various brands of alcohol and bhang in a house at Nairobi’s Mountain View Estate. The children include 26 boys and 18 girls, aged between 14 and 17 years. All are in primary and high schools, DCI said.

“The police want to establish why the woman had hosted the children and how the children got to her house. The DCI once again requests parents to take a keen interest in their children’s activities at home and on the social media networks.” Read a tweet from the official DCI account.

Their host, Millicent Kithinji, aged 41, was picked up for questioning by detectives based at Dagoretti. Officers seized different brands of Whisky and vodka and bhang (cannabis Sativa). Preliminary investigations revealed the children were from Nairobi, Kiambu Machakos counties.

“The DCI wishes to inform the public that we are hunting down members of the cartel and they’ll be apprehended to answer for their crimes. The DCI further warns parents to take a keen interest in their children’s activities at home and on social media networks.” DCI tweeted.
