CS Machogu’s Updates On KCSE Exams Scheduled For Monday After It was Declared Holiday
Education CS Ezekiel Machogu Confirms KCSE Exams on Public Holiday
Education CS Ezekiel Machogu has assured that the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations scheduled for Monday, November 13 will proceed as planned. This announcement comes despite Interior CS Kithure Kindiki declaring Monday, November 13, a public holiday for a nationwide tree-planting initiative.
In a statement released on Tuesday, November 7, Machogu stated that the public holiday would not disrupt the ongoing KCSE examinations. He emphasized that the Ministry of Education is committed to ensuring the smooth conduct of the exams.
Machogu also urged all members of the Multi-Agency Examinations Administration Group to report to their duties promptly to ensure that all planned activities for the day run smoothly.
Public Holiday for Tree-Planting Exercises
Interior CS Kithure Kindiki declared the public holiday on Monday, November 13, to encourage Kenyans to participate in tree-planting exercises across the country. This decision is in line with Kenya’s Landscape and Ecosystem Restoration Program, which aims to grow fifteen billion trees.

The tree-planting initiative will have a designated National venue where President William Ruto will preside over the planting, while Cabinet Secretaries and Governors will oversee the activities in each of the forty-seven counties.
Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) are also expected to take a leading role in tree-planting exercises in at least two counties each. This initiative is a significant step towards environmental conservation and ecosystem restoration.
