Kiamaina Secondary School in Bahati Constituency, Nakuru County has been shut down for two weeks following 4 covid-19 infection cases.
The determination to close the school was arrived at because the school is a day school and students which make it impossible for students to be isolated or quarantined at the school.
Nakuru County Health CeC, Dr Gichuki Kariuki confirmed the case stating that the decision will allow the students to receive the required medical attention from their homes.
The four students are in stable condition according to the health officer. The County government has begun contact tracing to prevent more spread of the virus.
Kenya has recorded 80,102 positive cases from the 861,102 samples tested in the country since March this year. 53,526 people have also recovered as 1,427 people succumbed.
Schools have not been spared either as more cases continue to be reported. The Ministry of Education has maintained that schools will not close down due to the virus.
