Counties with more Primary Headteachers than Schools
Six counties have an excess of primary school headteachers, according to the task force’s latest report.
The TSC is anticipated to relocate teachers from areas with a surplus of personnel to schools with a deficit of teachers, according to the reform team.
Baringo has Embu (74), Kericho (54), Kirinyaga (255), and Murang’a (2) 411 more instructors than it requires.
According to data obtained for the task force’s preliminary report, primary schools in three counties—Baringo, Marsabit, and West Pokot—have more head teachers than institutions.
There are 722 primary schools and 849 head teachers in Baringo County. In the 180 elementary schools that make up Marsabit County, 195 head teachers are employed.
Although there are 654 primary teachers in West Pokot, there are 670 head teachers in the classrooms.
This is true even though some other counties have numerous institutions with a sizable headcount disparity.

There are 2,875 fewer teachers needed in the county of Nakuru, which includes 373 secondary schools. Following it is Homa Bay County, which has 333 secondary schools and a 2,570 teacher shortage.

The top five understaffed secondary schools in Bomet County are closed. There are 2,368 teachers needed in the county’s 280 secondary schools.
