Cost of Law, Engineering & Medicine Courses At Top Kenyan Universities
The cost of enrolling in a few highly sought-after programs at the best institutions in Kenya has been revealed in a recent research.
The most expensive programs continue to be those in medical, dentistry, and pharmacy, according to a Business Daily analysis.
To study medicine at Kenyatta University (KU), Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Maseno University (MSU), and Moi University (MU), students must pay Ksh 612,000 year.
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MUST), according to information provided by Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), charges Ksh 306,000 for the same programme.
The University of Nairobi (UoN) charges Ksh 539,750 for a medical degree, whereas Kisii University (KSU) charges Ksh 461,210.

In other places, it costs Ksh 510,000 and Ksh 592,500, respectively, to pursue medici at private universities such Mount Kenya University and Uzima University.
Only two universities, however, provide a degree in dentistry surgery.
It includes Moi University and the University of Nairobi, with annual costs of Ksh 521,000 and Ksh 612,000, respectively.
Maseno and Kenyatta University need students to pay Ksh 428,400 while Kisii University requires students to pay Ksh 418,770 to pursue a degree in pharmacy.

The annual tuition for the course at UoN is Ksh 413,950.
Under the Differentiated Unit Cost (DUC) model, a degree in clinical medicine would cost Ksh 720,000 yearly, a degree in clinical dentistry would cost Ksh 720,000 annually, and a degree in veterinary medicine would cost Ksh 564,000.
The cost of a law degree is Ksh 214,700 at Egerton University, Ksh 221,850 at UoN, and Ksh 183,600 each at Moi, Maseno, and KU.
Daystar University, an exclusive private university, has the highest annual tuition for legal studies at Ksh 335,000, followed by Africa Nazarene University at Ksh 269,250 and Kabarak University at Ksh 256,250.
JKUAT, KU, and the University of Eldoret each charge Ksh 336,600 for an engineering course, compared to Ksh 374,850 at the University of Nairobi.

Both the Technical University of Kenya (TUK) and the Technical University of Mombasa charge Ksh 300,000 and Ksh 302,940 respectively for the same programme.
A student at Daystar University who wants to pursue a legal degree will need to pay a total of Ksh 335,000, as was previously published on WoK.
Africa Nazarene University, which charges Ksh 269,250, is in second place, followed by Kabarak University, which charges Ksh 256,150.
Kisii University and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) impose tuition fees of Ksh 225,335 and Ksh 238,208, respectively.
While University of Nairobi charges Ksh 221,850 for a law degree, Catholic University charges Ksh 224,200.

Chuka University charges Ksh 183,600 for a law degree, whilst Egerton University charges Ksh 214,700 for the same.
Kenyatta University, which has a tuition fee of Ksh 183,600, ended the top 10 list.
