Confirmed: Man Utd Secures Next Signing with Medical Underway, while Liverpool Nears £43m Deal

Man United, Liverpool, and Arsenal have been spending lavishly to close the distance with Manchester City.

Sofyan Amrabat is expected to sign with Manchester United.

Tuesday, August 1st, here are the most recent transfer rumors from the Premier League and around the globe.

Today, Hojlund medical and Amrabat say ‘yes’

The Athletic reports that Rasmus Hojlund will undergo his Manchester United medical examination today.

The 20-year-old Danish forward has agreed to join Manchester United from Serie A club Atalanta for €75 million plus €10 million in add-ons.

A five-year contract with an additional year’s option is on the table.

Hojlund will become manager Erik ten Hag’s third summer acquisition, following the transfers of Mason Mount and Andre Onana to Manchester.

Sofyan Amrabat, a midfielder for Fiorentina, reportedly rejected late offers from the Middle East and said ‘yes’ to the Red Devils.

Amrabat, 26, worked under ten Hag at FC Utrecht, and at £26 million, he appears to be a bargain acquisition after dazzling at last year’s World Cup.

Fred may depart the club upon his arrival, as Turkish clubs have expressed interest.

Liverpool is ‘one step away’

According to reports, Liverpool are “one step away” from signing Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.

After Jordan Henderson and Fabinho’s departures to the Middle East in recent days, the midfielder has been Jurgen Klopp’s midfield priority.

The Saints have already rejected Liverpool’s initial offer for their gifted 19-year-old, who was formerly with Manchester City.

Foot Mercato reports that an agreement is imminent, with Lavia “one step away” from joining the Anfield club. A six-year contract and personal conditions have been reached with the adolescent.

A transaction reportedly worth “around €50 million” has reportedly entered “the final phase” of negotiations.

Tottenham has ties to Lukaku

Tottenham has been linked with a surprise approach for Romelu Lukaku of Chelsea.

The new Spurs manager, Ange Postecoglou, wants to “personally” acquire the Belgian forward, according to Football Transfers.

Lukaku spent last season with Inter Milan in Serie A, away from Stamford Bridge.

The report indicates that if Harry Kane were to depart north London for Bayern Munich, the Australian coach would want Lukaku on loan for the 2023/24 season.

This summer, the former Manchester United player wishes to depart west London. According to the same source, Tottenham is willing to pay him £300,000 per week to join the Lilywhites.

United is monitoring Balogun.

Manchester United is the most recent team linked to Arsenal forward Folarin Balarin.

The United States international appears likely to depart the Emirates in the summer, as his path to the first team has been blocked.

He spent a productive season away from north London with French club Reims last year.

This has only served to increase his asking price, with Arsenal reportedly seeking £50 million for his signature. This has discouraged Inter Milan, who reportedly had a bid for the teenager rejected.

Last season, Balogun scored 21 goals for the French club. The Gunners are interested in retaining the 22-year-old for the 2023/24 season, but Mikel Arteta cannot guarantee him playing time.

The Independent reports that United are monitoring his situation as they attempt to sign Rasmus Hojlund.
