Yesterday, Chelsea agreed to purchase Angelo from Santos for £15 million, with the 18-year-old expected to join Strasbourg on loan.

The 18-year-old Brazilian prodigy is regarded as one of the most promising prospects in Brazil’s Serie A, and it is believed that Chelsea competed with Barcelona for the player’s signature.

Later, the Catalan club withdrew from the competition, allowing Chelsea to conclude the recruitment of an additional talented South American teenager.

The Blues secured the services of Angelo’s contemporary, Andrey Santos, during the January transfer window. Santos will relocate to west London after meeting the requirements for a UK work visa.

This month, Chelsea reached an agreement with Independiente del Valle to acquire rising star Kendry Paez, who will join the Premier League club when he turns 18 in two years.

Angelo is the latest South American prodigy to join Chelsea during the transfer window.

Andrey Santos, the Santos player’s Brazil teammate, joined the Blues in January.

Angelo has made 129 appearances since joining the senior team at age 16 despite his immaturity.

The teenager scored the youngest goal in the history of the Copa Libertadores in 2021, and has also represented Brazil at the international level, earning 15 caps for its numerous youth teams.

Angelo will spend the upcoming season on loan at Strasbourg after Chelsea acquired a majority stake in the Ligue 1 club in order to establish a multi-club model similar to that of Manchester City and Red Bull.

However, Chelsea will not seek to bolster their roster without a number of players leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek became the fourth player to leave Chelsea, following N’Golo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Mateo Kovacic, after agreeing a £18.5m deal with AC Milan.

After flying to Italy on Wednesday, the academy graduate is scheduled to undergo a medical examination at AC Milan on Thursday.

His Blues teammate Christian Pulisic, who has also been linked to Milan’s Serie A rivals Juventus and Napoli, could follow suit.

Chelsea’s £25 million asking price for the USMNT captain discourages Milan from making a double move.

Thursday will mark the completion of Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s medical for his transfer to AC Milan.

Throughout Chelsea’s tumultuous 2022-23 season, Pulisic has struggled to earn playing time under all four managers.

Pulisic scored a brace against Mexico in the USA’s CONCACAF Nations League semi-final and subsequently hoisted the trophy aloft after his team won the trophy earlier this month, proving that his extended spell on the bench has not hampered his international prospects.

Edouard Mendy completed his £17 million transfer to Al Ahli on Wednesday evening, as Chelsea’s efforts to offload a number of contracted players show no sign of easing down.

Kai Havertz completed his crosstown transfer to Arsenal on Wednesday, becoming the £65 million club’s first summer signing.
